CM
has said “ the sterling performance by these players have not only brought
glory to our state but made the entire country proud so we have taken decision
to raise the prize money. We salute their dedication, hard work and commitment.
We also appreciate that these sportspersons owe their success to the relentless
efforts of their coaches. The state government is happy to honour the coaches
of the gold, silver and bronze medallists with cash prizes of Rs 12.50 lakh, Rs
7.50 lakh and Rs 5 lakh respectively.
The
state government has already taken a policy decision to give suitable jobs
directly to the medal winning players in various departments. Ms. Rahi Sarnobat
has already been appointed to the post of Deputy Collector. The benefits of
this policy will be given to the other awardees of Commonwealth Games 2014 as
well.
